Short answer
The common knowledge test contains 30 to 50 questions, allows one minute per question, and requires errors to be no more than 10% of the questions asked. On a standard 30-question category B test, that works out to 30 minutes and no more than 3 errors.
What the regulation requires
Annex VI of Spain’s General Driver Regulation sets the framework for knowledge tests. The common test must contain at least 30 and at most 50 questions. Candidates receive one minute per question, with justified extensions available in specified circumstances.
A candidate passes when errors do not exceed 10% of the questions asked. If the percentage produces a decimal, the rule applies the next whole number. That is why a 30-question test permits three errors.
How to practise the real interface
The DGT provides free online sample tests. Its official guidance says the tests use a format and quantity of questions similar to the real theory examination, but also warns that the small set of sample questionnaires is for familiarisation rather than complete preparation.
Use the official simulator to learn the interface. Use a broader, source-reviewed question bank to practise topic coverage, then finish with timed 30-question mock sessions.
